Preparing you for trial
Helping you present your defence and yourself in court as best as possible.
Service Description
Giving evidence in a courtroom full of strangers and trying to convince them of your innocence is one of the most terrifying things that a person will go through. Most, if not all people are defeated before they even enter the courtroom by the stress, anxiety and pressure they feel from their families and what they put themselves under. We can help you. Lawyers often overlook how a client presents himself and his defence in court during the trial. This is an extremely important component of trial preparation, as the client must be able to articulate his defence to a jury of his peers and convince them of his innocence. In extremely serious criminal cases such as terrorism, murder and complex frauds, defendants will always be cross-examined, that is questioned, by a senior prosecution counsel, an extremely competent specialist barrister with decades of professional experience in this particular area of crime, usually at the level of the trial judge presiding the case. The difference in experience is very significant. It can be compared to a primary school child being questioned by the headmaster, a terrifying for many. We can help you prepare for the process of cross-examination with particular consideration of the following areas of your presentation including: 1. Your comprehension and understanding of the questions and your strategy; 2. Your speech, language and delivery ; 3. Your body language and non-verbal communication; 4. The impression you make to third parties; 5. The questioning process; 6. The mental and psychological aspects of trial preparation; 7. Critical evaluation and deconstruction of questions; and, 8. Positively asserting your defence case; The above points are illustrative. Numerous aspects have not been included. As lawyers, we must deconstruct the prosecution case to advance the defence. Equally important to the defence case is your evidence. This means that when giving evidence, you must be able to competently and intelligently articulate your defence case in the face of the most critical of cross-examinations by a senior prosecution barrister. We can help you through the entire process. Call 07825 037 037 or email vs@clearlylegal.org immediately.
